STARTING TO WRITE
The students who wrote these pieces have been learning English for a very short time.
Language and phrasing reflect students' level.

Cape Town is very good; because the streets are beautiful;
But the people here have problems. They are smoking,
Drinking beer. WHY? They are missing the job, school,
University. Sometimes I watch on TV the people fight, the
Children's missing the family, but they are problems their talk

To speak about Cape Town is very important for me, because it is a very brilliant city for me and also for all the students from Angola.

I've been here for a few days. But I have a lot of affection for this city now. I like to study English course at Language Link College because when I arrived here I didn't speak anything but now I speak English a little bit and I feel so happy.

Learning English well
My name is Antonio I came here to study. During the week I go to school to learn English because at this moment it is my first priority.
This moment I'm not speaking English very well but for me it's no problem. I have good teachers.
My dream is to be an engineer to help everyone.

OPINIONS

Stop the crime
To keep youth off street corners, I would gather the people together and tell them how to stop using drugs. This is to play any sport, like soccer or baseball, because they should get off the street. The reason is that there is no care for the children, and people do wrong things like rape, and other wrong things. How to stop all those things is to have something to keep people busy. I want to keep off the streets and my opinion is to care for and protect the children. But if I have a football club the first thing to do is to organize a big tournament, and get property, like t-shirts, for the team. The second thing is to organize buses, management, drivers and coaches for all divisions. This will help to stop crime.
Joseph Kuse

Where will we be?
I can not exactly say where the world will be on the next years, but I can imagine for example where he would be, so may be inj 50 years the world would have a society who practice more solidarity, green thoughts respecting more the nature, living in a healthier environment, less corruption and violence. I dream with a free world, less poverty and hungry, equality of rights, especially for women living in Muslim countries. I also dream a cure for HIV will be discovered; condition that nowadays kills a lot of people.

The development of the technology shouldn't stop growing on useful and harmless way, helping more than destucting.

On these days the humanity lives so busy, stressed and greedy for money that we forget about very important things, so for the next 50 years I hope people won't forget about their believes and religions.

GLOBAL WARMING

The sientists and prophets say the earth will be destroyed by many natural disasters in 2012.
The for good example is that lots of ice on the norht pole and the south poles is melting because the earth is getting warmer so some island is sinking by lots of water. But these things can be happened more and more.
That is why that people who live in island and near by beach must leave there. But people can not image future until something have been happened to them right now. Actually the whole world is getting warm more and more. In order that the people live to comfort more on earth, they made and invent many things. Something is good for human but bad for natural earth. Many car, many factory have produced many problem something like bad gas. It can be changed eath warmer. But not only melting ice but also carbonic acid in the sea which can explore

RAISING OUR ECONOMY

It is quite difficult to grow the economy in any country but we can't wait for the government to do all the things to help the economy in our country to develop.

I'll use all the effort and capacity that it will take to grow my business. I will obtain everything that's necessary to make my clients feel comfortable. Running a restaurant is a very difficult business because of all the competition that exists out there. In my restaurant I'll serve different kinds of food, not just Angolan food.

If more people create such projects it will be very good for the economy. It doesn't matter you open your business the only thing that matters is that you are making a difference. Therefore, let's all think about how we can help our government to grow the economy in our country in the most simple way.

For example, in the next two years I wish to create my own business. It will be a restaurant which I've been thinking about for long time.

We all know that beginning a business is very difficult, so I'll start by saving money for capital. If I don't save up enough money by a certain amount of time I will ask the bank for a loan. If I receive the loan I'll be very happy.

POEMS AND PROVERBS

I Wish

I wish I could
I wish I could love you
unconditionally
All my life I've dreamt
about us living in a castle
like kings and queens
but our love got lost in the
angry oceans, a sea of living storms
sunk beneath the waves
at times it surfaced briefly
sweet windows of joy

I wish I could wake up
to find my lost love, to hug and
to tell him how big
is my passion and love
for him
I wish I could
I wish I could love him.

My Reflection

In my mirror
In my mirror I see me
not the same as other days
At times it shows me
full of energy and with a good sense of humour
so I feel better
At times it shows me ugly and sad
and I start to cry
but with time I discover
my in beauty.

Sometimes

Sometimes I think I did right
but I never told her
how much I love her

Now is too late
because angels came and
took her home
I felt bad, but with that I've learned that I should express my feelings
At might be too late to you this, but I love you mommy.

She quickly found a job in an art gallery and a flat to rent. Her flat was close to the beach and there was a bar tapas called "La Manzana" just around the corner of the street. My favorite animal is a bird. My history is about a bird.

When I was young, I was living on a farm with my father. So my father took me to work around the farm and my father climbed a tree to show a beehive with some honey and he found an eagle nest. He took down the nest, it had two baby birds inside and they were wonderful I liked them very much. My father gave the birds to me, I took them home and I called all my friends and we started to play with the bird I made cage and I put them in. After three months they grew up and I never opened the cage door. They ate just mice and grasshoppers. So one day I opened the cage door they run away. I started to crying from 11oclock to 1oclock. When it was 3 I saw the bird coming to get in cage I was surprised and happy. I gave then names "avemos de voltar". that mean "we will came back".

INTERESTING PLACES

Museum of Slavery
The National Museum of Slavery

The headquarters of the Museum is located inside a chapel of the seventeenth century, the s--called "Chapel of Big House", located in the Morro de Cruz neighborhood, away from the city of Luanda.

The Museum of Slavery in Angola is one of the most prominent institiutions of the country, and, according to information obtained, was created with the aim of informing about the genesis of the essence of the history of slavery in Angola.

The Chapel of Big House, where the museum is located, is of great historical representation, as was the place where the slaves were baptized before boarding the ships that carried the slave colonies.

I WALK WITH MY SCHOOL FRIENDS

At 9AM every day, we arrive at school and we learn a lot .But this day was different, because we went to the "IRMA STERN MUSEUM". We walked to the museum and it was a wonderful experience. All my school friends were there, and then we took a lot of photos. When we were inside the museum, we went into the dining room and we saw different pieces of furniture: a wooden table, a wooden statue, a painting and a cupboard. The cupboard was the most interesting thing that we saw. There was a very beautiful painting in the cupboard. The picture showed MARY being visited by angels, who said that she would give birth to Jesus. For me this cupboard with a picture was the most exciting. Afterwards, we were shown the tools the painting used are very nice. We went outside, and saw many big statues, some were made with wood, and others were made with metal or aluminum; we saw a beautiful and large garden the same place. In this place was my favorite painting, which was of a woman carrying a pot, and was made for "IRMA STERN". It was wonderful, great, unique, magical, and stupendous.

Cape Point Nature Reserve

I went to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. People call that place Cape Point. When I got there I felt refreshed. When I went to the top of the mountain, I could see the wide sea and waves and clear water. So I could throwaway the bad things in my heart. Above all, I could see the ocean currents meet at a point in the middle of the sea. It was amazing!
There is a pillar on the top of the mountain. People who went up there wrote their names on the pillar. So I wanted to write my name there too. But I couldn't write my name, it was full. Then I saw Korean letters on the pillar, so it was fine. I had a good time.

IMPRESSION CAPE TOWN

Cape Town is a beutiful city. The weather is very nice. Air is very delightfully fresh. Sea is very blue. HAve very much fish in sea. I saw two seadogs. Some people said you can see whale in the sea.
In China, you can't see them. Chinese cities are very crowded. A gloomy sky, a yellow sea. The motor vehicles are very noisy. But in Cape Town, you can't impression them. The mountain of Cape Town is very high and not bad. If you are on the roof of the mountain, you can see the complete picture of Cape Town. It's very beatiful. I have not lived in this town for long. I don't know more about Cape Town, but I like this city.

Dear Angola

This is just a quick note do say to you how I miss you…

Oh I miss you. Did you know why?
Now I'm going to tell you.
Angola All my desire always was to leave you for instant, because I thought that it could be easy. But, hum… I don't know… it's something inside my heart connected with you.

My thoughts often were between you and somewhere else.
Now I'm growing apart from you. Even if I decide to stay for a long time i will never forget all your experience and knowledge.

We had made an agreement, even so I have fallen in love with somewhere else, perhaps somewhere else who is more developed than you.
Here, day after day I meet new, attractive things.
But you still my # 1.

Hope to see you soon.
Love
Zaida
