Day trip to the 2010 stadium

Visit the new Stadium in Green Point Common

The Green Point Common has been used for soccer and other sports since the 17th century. British people mainly from the army contributed to create the common.
Now people are working hard to finish the new stadium by December. It will be one of the best stadiums of South Africa and of the world. There will be 68 000 seats.

What did I see? I enjoyed the performance of the actor who presented the history of Green Point Common. It was funny. I saw people working and a lot of students who were visiting the stadium.
The place reserved for visitors is beautiful. There are a lot of pictures of old teams of Cape Town. The auditorium is small but there enough space to accommodate the visitors.
I thought that we were inside the stadium but when we were invited to see and take pictures I realized that we were about 40 meters of the stadium.

I believe that Green Point Common will be again a place where people can share their happiness. It’s that sport is for.

GREEN POINT STADIUM VISIT

It was approximately 8:45am on Wednesday when we left the College to visit Stadium Green Point.

We were 15 students and we caught the bus that took round 15 min to get to the stadium.
The Stadium still it is under construction for the World Cup that it will be in June-July in 2010. There were many students from another College and we saw in the first room Marketing of the Stadium. It is very big and nice. There were many soccer players’ pictures of long ago, about 1964, on the wall. I saw Brazilian trainer, Carlos Alberto Parreira’s picture. I felt very proud with him.

Then, we went into a concert hall where there was a presentation on the screen and explanation about South Africa and its football history by a very dynamic and funny presenter. After, we went to the top of the stadium and saw many employees and to took photographs.

We returned to the first room and everybody drank CocaCola free.

I thought it was very good, it was funny.
I recommend that we go out often.
